Heidi Chia
Accredited Mental Health Social Worker

Heidi (she/her) is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker and EMDR-trained therapist who enjoys working with older children, adolescents and adults. Heidi’s experience spans community and health settings, where she has worked alongside families impacted by adversity and trauma, with a focus on relational trauma and complex PTSD.

Heidi is a compassionate and collaborative therapist who honours people’s individuality, strengths and capacity for growth. She is especially passionate about supporting people affected by trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, and those seeking to rebuild self-worth and confidence. Heidi’s therapeutic approach is grounded in evidence-based practice and tailored to each person’s unique needs and stage of life.

She draws on EMDR, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), and integrates mindfulness and somatic approaches. Heidi has also completed postgraduate vocational training in developmental psychiatry, which further enriches and informs her therapeutic work. Heidi strives to create a warm therapeutic space where people feel genuinely heard, understood, accepted, and safe to be vulnerable. She supports people to make sense of their experiences, reconnect with their inner strengths, and move toward meaningful and lasting change.

Outside of work, Heidi enjoys bush walks, bike riding, sewing, and spending quality time with family and friends.
