Clinical Social Worker and Counsellor

Lena Ford is a Clinical Social Worker and Accredited EMDR Practitioner and has worked with children, adolescents, adults and families for over 20 years within government and community sectors. She specialises in providing therapeutic interventions to children and adults who have experienced trauma and negative impacts of family violence, childhood abuse and neglect. Offering a warm and emotionally supportive therapeutic space, Lena uses a strengths-based and collaborative approach, taking into account individuals’ family and community context in the recovery process. Lena utilises a range of approaches such as EMDR, ACT, family therapy and play therapy. Outside of work, she enjoys fitness, pilates, cooking and spending time with family and friends.

Qualifications and Professional Associations

    • Bachelor of Arts (Social Sciences) (Monash University)
    • Bachelor of Social Work (Monash University)
    • Post Graduate Training in Family Therapy and Systems Theory (System Coordinators)
    • Member of the Australian Association of Social Workers
    • Member of the EMDR Association of Australia – Accredited EMDR Practitioner

Lena sees clients on Tuesdays and Fridays, including after-hours.
