Leonardo Cistullo
Accredited Mental Health Social Worker

Leo (he/him) is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker and EMDR therapist who works with adults experiencing trauma-related distress, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, relationship difficulties and challenges associated with life’s transitions. He is pleased to be part of the team at Mindful Living, offering tailored EMDR therapy that supports individual recovery and emotional wellbeing.

Leo’s background spans business, psychology, social work, and research, with experience across public mental health, hospital, and recovery settings. This work shaped his focus on trauma-informed, evidence-based therapy and led him to specialise in EMDR therapy. Alongside private practice work, Leo is also employed in public mental health services, supporting older adults living in the community.

Leo’s approach is EMDR-led and thoughtfully integrated with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), CBT-informed strategies, attachment-informed work, mindfulness, and practical skills to reduce distress and support balance and connection. His therapeutic style is collaborative, steady, and compassionate, working alongside you at a pace that feels safe and manageable. Leo warmly welcomes people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and is LGBTQIA+ affirming.

Leo brings the same care, curiosity, and self-reflection to his own life that he offers the people he works alongside. Outside of therapy, he enjoys tennis, dancing, spending time with friends and family, and cooking to a good playlist.
